FBU × Navy National Combine Experience

Vonzelle Brown II is a two-time Navy National Combine invitee — in 2026 and 2027 — and a quarterback in the Class of 2031. In his own words:

What was your favorite part of the Navy National Combine Experience, and why?

My favorite part of the Navy National Combine experience was being able to compete with talented athletes from different parts of the country.

As a quarterback, I enjoy being challenged and having the opportunity to show what I can do while also learning from coaches and other athletes.

“Competing at a high level motivates me to keep improving.”

How did participating in the Navy National Combine impact you as an athlete and/or person?

The experience helped me become more confident and showed me areas where I can continue to improve.

“I learned that no matter how much success you have, there is always another level to reach.”

— Vonzelle Brown II

It motivated me to keep working on my quarterback skills, leadership, accuracy, footwork, and decision-making.

It also reminded me to stay humble, coachable, and focused on getting better every day.

What would you tell another young athlete who is hoping to earn an invitation to the Navy National Combine?

I would tell them to keep working and don’t focus too much on rankings or what other athletes are doing.

  • 01Focus on developing your own game.
  • 02Compete every chance you get.
  • 03Listen to your coaches.
  • 04Make every rep count.

Be confident when your opportunity comes and always be ready to show what you can do.

“The work you put in when nobody is watching is what prepares you for opportunities like the Navy National Combine.”
