“I play football because I love the game, but above all, because God gave me the gift and the opportunity to play. Every time I step onto the field, I want to honor Him, make my family proud, and become better than I was yesterday. I know there is always more to learn, so I approach every practice, workout, and game with a mindset to grow. My goal is to become the best player, teammate, and young man I can be through faith, hard work, and dedication.”

Under Armour All-American Experience

For Urijah Springs, earning an opportunity to participate in the Under Armour All-American experience was more than a football game. It was an opportunity to compete, learn, build relationships and experience what it feels like to be surrounded by talented athletes from across the country.

Urijah's Perspective

“My favorite parts of the Under Armour All-American experience were the coaching, the competition, and being around so many great athletes.”

— Urijah Springs

Urijah had the opportunity to learn from coaches he had never worked with before while competing alongside athletes from different parts of the country.

Being surrounded by athletes who were talented, competitive and hungry to improve pushed him to challenge himself.

And, of course…

The Under Armour and FBU gear was pretty cool too!

Growing Through the Experience

The All-American experience gave Urijah a glimpse into another level of football.

He learned new things from coaches, competed against high-level athletes and made connections with players from across the country. Most importantly, the experience helped him recognize both his strengths and the areas where he still had room to grow.

“It made me want to work even harder because I could see where I was strong and where I still needed to get better.”

— Urijah Springs

The experience also gave Urijah an opportunity to introduce his game to people who may not have known him before.

But perhaps the biggest takeaway was confidence—the confidence to know that he can compete in environments filled with talented athletes.

Mom's Perspective

For Urijah's mom, choosing one favorite moment is almost impossible.

But seeing everything come together on game day stands out.

Watching the athletes walk onto the field fully suited in Under Armour gear, seeing their names on the big screen, watching the sunset over the field and hearing the crowd cheering created a moment that captured the significance of everything that led to that opportunity.

The work. The sacrifice. The time. The dedication.

And the experience was about much more than game day.

The athletes participated in team meetings, practices, workouts and coaching sessions that provided a glimpse into a higher-level football environment.

“As a parent, it was incredible to watch him experience all of it.”

The experience also changed her perspective as a mom.

Urijah was no longer simply competing against athletes from his area. He was sharing a field, locker room and experience with talented young athletes from across the country.

It reinforced that his journey is bigger than one team, one city or one season.

She watched him build relationships, learn from different coaches, face new competition and grow in confidence.

And while she left proud of what he had accomplished, she was even more excited about who he was becoming.

Urijah's Advice to the Next Generation

If you're hoping to earn an invitation to an Under Armour All-American Game, Urijah's message is simple:

KEEP PUSHING. KEEP PRACTICING.

“Keep pushing and keep practicing, even when nobody is watching.”

— Urijah Springs
  • 01Be coachable.
  • 02Listen to your coaches and parents.
  • 03Take care of your schoolwork.
  • 04Do the right things off the field.

Show up as your best self everywhere—not just during games.

And if you don't receive the opportunity you wanted the first time?

Keep working.

Come back better.

You never know who is watching.
